A sole HR practitioner position, responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Management, including benefits, payroll, safety, labor law, employee relations. Reported to the President and CEO for strategic development.
10/05 – 11/07 Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Hollywood, CA Human Resources Director
Social Services nonprofit - $53M budget and 40% union staff, the LAGLC provides community services, including low-cost health & mental health, HIV/AIDS care, testing and prevention, as well as legal, social, and educational services for seniors, families and youth, including a 24-bed youth transitional living program. Provided operational and strategic full scope HR program. Supervised payroll, benefits, recruitment, staff development and training, personnel policy, disciplinary actions, and labor relations initiatives. Reduced department costs by 20% in the first year through streamlined processes and efficiency. Agency’s representative for labor relations and enforced compliance with C.B.A. Acted as a community resource for the handling of issues specific to HIV/AIDS, sexual orientation, gender identity, and related workplace issues.

Reporting to the President and CFO, responsible for all aspects of HR Management; including payroll administration; benefits administration; event planning; employee relations; safety/OSHA compliance; recruitment; management training. Managed the HR related aspects of acquisitions, including acquainting myself with any employment laws relevant to the state in which the acquired company operated. Grew the organization from 190 staff to 285 in just over 2 years. Improved processes for employee lifecycle; Ensured compliance with HIPAA & OSHA Regulations.
